The festival at the cinema

by Bernhard Hanneken

It's a common behaviour not only at big film festivals like Cannes: Until the very last minute directors tend to cut, edit, make corrections to the colour settings, add subtitles, change the sound mix. Josephine Links, a successful short and documentary fimmaker from Berlin, is no exception to the rule. Last year she and her team accompanied musicians (Eurasians Unity, Karolina Cicha, Torgeir Vassvik), visitors, and members of the organisation team prior to and during the festival. Afterwards, they turned the material into a 90-minute movie whose poetic images make tangible the joining force of the music and the magic of being together in Rudolstadt.

Premiere: Friday, 8 July, at 11 h in the Cineplex (across the street from the theatre)

After the screening, Werner Fuhr (ex WDR; Honorary RUTH 2015) will talk with Josephine Links, Torgeir Vassvik, and Rudolstadt-Festival co-director Petra Rottschalk about the film and the festival.
