Line up 2019: Lüül & Band
by Miriam Rossius
For four decades Lüül has been a solid part in Germany’s musical scene. But then what is German? This singer, songwriter and guitar player called Lutz Graf-Ulbrich with his real name left the island position of West Berlin in favour of Paris and New York, enriched his horizon in numerous other places and projects. He lived through inventing German Krautrock with bands Agitation Free and Ash Ra Tempel, lived and worked with musician, model and Warhol muse Nico, founded rock theatre Reineke Fuchs (Reynard the fox), had a hit during German new wave (Neue Deutsche Welle) and so on. One guy with many lives and at least a thousand stories to tell. In Rudolstadt he will be joined by close companions from 17 Hippies (a Berlin alltime favorite band) including accordion, violin, double bass.
