Ayça Miraç (TUR|DEU)
Ayça Miraç (TUR|DEU)Ayça Miraç is a young Turkish-diaspora jazz singer. Her father is a Turkish poet-novelist (Yaşar Miraç) whose poetry has been set to music by the likes of the folk group Yeni Türkü. Her mother is a member of the Laz community, a Caucasian minority people around the Black Sea. Ayça studied jazz but her music alchemises three traditions dear to her heart: Turkish, Laz and jazz. Supposedly the ancient Greeks considered the Lazi to be magic. Anybody who has heard Ayça Miraç’s music knows magic applies to her.
