Line-up 2019: First names confirmed!

We sound the bell for a supergroup from Madagascar and four quirky characters from Franconia:

Toko Telo

Everyone in this trio is some kind of star in her/his own right, but they are so much in harmony with each other as they have been made for this line-up: D’Gary, maybe the most well known musician from Madagascar, Monika Njava who is gifted with one of the greatest voices of the island, and Joël Rabesolo, the most celebrated guitar player of his generation. Together they create an incredible melodious sound with a touching depth of the soul. It reflects their heartfelt connection to traditional styles like Tsapiky, Jihe and Beko, but also an individual taste for jazz. From the forst moment Monika’s singing is captivating, D’Gary’s extraordinary, open-tuning playing developed from traditional instrumental techniques and the style of his 20 year younger counterpart complement each other in a wonderful way.

Gankino Circus

Caution: Very addictive! Wherever these four Franconian characters enter the stage, the audience goes crazy. Especially the south of Germany has been infected so far, but their fan base grows rapidly. With this mixture of concert, cabaret, comedy and mad world music show you’ll have „a whale of a time“ as German newspaper Saarbrücker Zeitung wrote. The artists call themselves quirky characters who are not only musical virtuosos, but also gifted storytellers and ask: „Let's be honest: handmade music, a charmingly odd stage performance and loads of rural madness – hasn't that become very rare?“ So these guys are announcing a lot. But chances are very good they will keep their promise.
